Scout Camp to Celebrate 1st Birthday




Accrington St Pauls Barnfield Scouts attended a local scout camp site on 7th to 9th November for their first ever scout camp in celebration of their first birthday.


Despite the weather the scouts enjoyed themselves and took part in a range of activities, including archery, raft building and camp gadgets.

St Pauls Barnfield Cubs took part in this years District Conker Competition which was held on Saturday 18th October.


Cubs from across the District took part in a variety of activities including Pillow Fighting, Craft, Team Challenge, Connect 4, Cross Country and the End Game.





Unfortunately time was in short supply and a lack of conkers saw the actual conker competition posponed until further notice.


St Pauls Barnfield came 3rd in the Team Challenge and 1st in the Pillow Fighting.

Visit to the Accrington Town Hall


On Tuesday 26th February 2008, St Pauls Barnfield Beavers and Cubs spent the evening at Accrington Town Hall as guests of the Mayor Tony Dobson.

They discovered the history of the Town Hall from its origins as The Peel Institute to its present day uses.

The explored the council chambers and the Mayors Parlour. Whilst in the Council Chambers a short ceremony was held to move 4 beavers up to cubs and to present them with The Bronze Chief Scouts Award.

5 cubs were also invested and presented with certificate of investiture by the Mayor.
